Choosing a USDT / USDC payment gateway: APIs, fees and recovery

2026-05-10 · Updated 2026-10-03 · UUGate · 3 min read

Compare USDT/USDC payment APIs by asking each candidate to complete the same integration tasks. This is a merchant evaluation framework, not a ranking based on testing every provider. UUGate's scope follows its current documentation; verify other providers directly.

Distinguish payment APIs, gateways and platforms

In UUGate, payment APIs support order creation, queries and callback verification. The payment gateway links business orders to on-chain payment recognition. The payment platform adds a merchant console, custody wallets, dedicated addresses, payouts, sweeps and fee management. Other providers may use these names differently, so verify the actual capabilities and responsibilities.

Match integration to orders and ongoing member top-ups

Store and digital goods orders need a consistent mapping between merchant order references, amounts, assets, networks and business status. Verify and reconcile payment notifications before fulfillment. For ongoing member top-ups, evaluate dedicated address binding and the mapping between each address, member and network. Payment records, business credits and wallet balances should be traceable separately.

Define the required workflow

List payer assets and networks, fixed-amount orders versus ongoing member top-ups, address needs, payouts and sweeps. UUGate currently supports TRC20-USDT, BEP20-USDT, BEP20-USDC and SPL-USDC. Supporting USDT does not imply every network, and support for BTC or another asset must be checked separately.

Clarify custody and responsibility

Ask who generates addresses, manages private keys, receives funds and authorizes transfers. Check transaction exports. UUGate provides platform-custodied wallets; that should not be described as a merchant-held-key, non-custodial model. Trace a complete order through payment and records instead of judging custody from a demo screen.

Calculate costs separately

Record monthly plan charges, address allowance, payout and sweep network fees, and renewal terms for your actual workload. Consider the payer's blockchain cost separately. Use current pricing and returned fee information, rather than a single headline fee. A fee-account balance and a merchant wallet balance are different values.

Test the failure paths

Request documented creation, lookup, callback verification and error codes. Test repeated notifications, temporary callback failure and creation timeouts. UUGate's creation, lookup and callback pages form a testable path. Reconcile a timeout before retrying creation; do not assume it is inherently idempotent.

Keep a reviewable acceptance record

Choose based on your workflow and observed results. Start with the quickstart and then compare integration and ongoing maintenance effort.

Evaluate gateway operations as well as the happy path

Compare candidates using normal deposits, repeated callbacks, unavailable webhook endpoints, creation timeouts, wrong networks and insufficient fee-account funds. Keep order references, transaction hashes, delivery outcomes and business records. Demo screens are not live-fund acceptance tests. When a signed payout has an unknown result, verify it or rebroadcast the original signature instead of signing again.
